The Lunar Project: December

The year 2011 has drawn to a close and my (very convenient) Lunar Project as well. I took the January photo using my brother-in-law’s Canon EOS and finally bought myself a Nikon d3100 as a post-Valentine’s gift.

As 2011 ended, I chose this photo to symbolize the new life that each of us will embark on in 2012.

Thank you to everyone who dropped by and followed this humble blog. It was a joy interacting with people from around the globe. God bless you and your family.

The Lunar Project: November

I’ve always wanted to try macro photography but it’s really expensive to buy a macro lens. In the meantime, the reverse ring is the best alternative to the real thing but I must say, it takes patience (lots of it!) to use this thing.

I’ve tried it on rose buds and the minutest weeds I can find in our yard but this is the first time I’ve tried it on an insect. I still have a long way to go but I’m really happy with this little accomplishment.

The Lunar Project: October

I have been raving about Coron’s unadulterated beauty and local life, and I hope it stays that way for years to come. I have nothing against tourism but sadly, it comes with it commercialism and exploitation of the natural splendor of the place. That’s what happened to Boracay; who would have thought that Starbucks will find its way there?  Much as Boracay is one of the reasons tourists visit our country, it will be sad to see Coron altered to fit the western and urban lifestyle.

People from the city go to the province to relax and get away from the urban noise that we are so accustomed to and Coron is one of the splendid places where you can escape and stare in wonder at nature’s magnificence and just chill in the laid-back local life.

And here are still some photos of Coron:

The Lunar Project: September

I lived in Marikina City for most of my life but I managed to ignore the good things around the city until one day we decided to head on to Marikina River for some strolling one Sunday morning.

It is still not as clean as it used to be; not as awesome as some parks but it’s ok for some bit of photoshoot and people-watching.

The Lunar Project: August

Laziness has struck ever since I got back in Manila and I just can’t get my act together and choose  something for August.

But finally, I decided on this photo. It was taken yet again at the Phi-Phi Hotel and Beach Resort on a stormy August 27 morning. A dear friend was on vacation that time and we decided to spend it differently since whenever he comes home for a visit, we always end up meeting him for lunch or dinner which always feels like we still have tons to catch up on.

There were howling winds and raging waves but those didn’t dampen our spirits and we still went in for a dip, but very much close to the shore.

But on Sunday morning, surprisingly, the sun showed it’s face and I drew this sun just to make sure it doesn’t hide until Monday as some of my companions were still staying behind.
